these units require a 3/4 minimum gas line it looks as though yours is not even 1/2 inch, check it out let me know. If you don’t have the proper gas flow your unit wont fire.

Try a Stiebel Eltron electric tankless water heater. Gas tankless are just more problematic than they are worth.

High cost for tankless electric or gas cost as well as the water bill should you spring a leak that allows this unit to continuously run, such as your kid leaving the water running upstair while your sleeping or away on a trip. Optimum to install on/off or timer switch for control.

My Rinnai unit (2532) worked fine for 3 years, then all of a sudden quit working. Rinnai made me upgrade my gas service, call in an electrician to verify that the power was hooked up properly (it was), install filters in the water line. Cost me over $600 before they would even talk to me, then denied that the problem was with their unit. I spent more getting this unit fixed than a new one cost and it’s only 3 years old. Rinnai sucks too.

Two things that can cuase a problem, whether it be a tankless water, gas furnace etc, Any product with an electronic control. 1) Check to make sure you have a good ground. Your flame sensor cannot read properly with a poor ground. 2) Make sure you have the proper polarity, hot and neutral connections. If you reverse them, again, the flame sensor cannot read properly and the blower comming on again is the system evacuating on a 5 minute lock-out for retry. Notice is lights and quits immediately.

You should have hired a licensed professional plumbing contractor and had the required building permit obtained and inspected by a building and safety man, he would have issued a legal order to correct the improper installation.

Ah, well that would make the difference! Obvious problems first, you know. I assume your gas supply is ok? What make & model is this?

i shot the video horizontally to capture more detail. The unit is upright!

The unit is on its side. It was designed to operate in an upright position. Any operational testing should be done under normal operating conditions. Try setting it upright and test it again.
